I can’t help but get caught up in the video game madness that is going on this week. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ll be standing outside Best Buy for a Wii and Zelda on Sunday morning.
Rushing to Navy Boi’s place after school to play Goldeneye all winter, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater til our eyes bled, drinking myself retarded playing Gran Turismo 4 by myself all night…video games are awesome.
Head on over to the worm and post your top 5 of all-time.

The Listen skateboard team had a demo at the YMCA Skatepark in Eau Claire, Wisconsin the week that I started my job over here in the MN meaning I didn’t get to go check them out, so I was stoked to see this link tonight.
Speaking of skateboarding, I think I made it out twice the entire month of October (both times rolling solo) and one of the times the ramp (Mendota Heights!) was so slick with leaf dust that it was almost unskateable (note: slick ramps = long bs tails!). I’ve gotta get out soon, anyone wanna go?
Linerider has basically taken over my life. More Linerider carnage over at the worm. Maybe I’ll just stop skateboarding and become a linerider. At least I have friends that “ride the line.”

Three web apps that have tidied up my desktop (and cluttered up my browser, but just a little bit thanks to tabbed browsing):
Google Reader - For the past 6 - 12 months I have been using NetNewsWire Lite as my web feed aggregator of choice and have been quite happy with it. The app is fast, free and has a clean, easy to use UI. Recently I ran into a post on digg.com speaking highly of Google’s web-based reader. After tooling around with it for a week or so, I completely switched over to it, a task that took about 30 seconds thanks to some OPML(XML is pretty neat when it isn’t being used as a massive configuration file, ahem Struts…) export/import goodness. The reader doesn’t do anything amazing or new but it is simple and does what I want/need it to do and thanks to Firefox 2’s new web feed handling abilities, adding feeds to Google Reader is easy and painless.
Meebo - Since I’ve switched to the mac I have been itching to use the audio/video messaging awesomeness that is iChat. Unfortunately, iChat only supports the AOL/.mac messenger protocol and over half of my friends use alternative messenger programs so I was forced to run multiple messenger applications (Yahoo!, MSN and AOL/iChat) at once or search for an alternative. The alternative turned out to be Adium and it was a good one but as I mentioned above, the name of the game is tidy up the desktop. A certain worm turned me on to a web-based solution called Meebo after I started my new job and realized my web-nerd-messaging needs could not be satisfied with my lack of admin privileges on my work PC. Like the above web app, Meebo doesn’t do anything new or flashy and it doesn’t do audio/video but it gets the job done inside of a single web browser window and doesn’t require an installation (or admin…).
FireFTP - FireFTP is an FTP client that does its thing via Firefox extension magic. Previously I had been using Cyberduck for my FTP needs but found that it was crashing fairly frequently and was slow so I gladly switched to FireFTP after I discovered it. I really have no complaints about this app other than the occasional annoying Javascript pop-up timeout warnings.
On a completely unrelated note:
Dear Mike McCarthy,
1st and Goal at the 1 yard line down by a touchdown, not exactly the best time for a passing play… You broke my heart asshole.
Sincerely,

Note to self: Next time it seems like a good idea to invite the lady to after-work happy hour with co-workers, refrain.
I’m pretty sure I found Navy Boi’s halloween costume.
Happy b-day Snardvark.

Hot Asian robots are the future of all things awesome. I’m actually thinking about emailing this chick. You know, to talk about the weather and whatnot. Starting off the post with links to two psuedo-real chicks? Isn’t that kind of nerdy? Yep, thats how we do things here at dabootki.com.
Speaking of this site, Tuesday, October 3rd, may go down as the best day in the history of dabootski.com. A whomping 56 unique visitors blessed these pages, thanks mostly to some linkage from the worm and a random surprise from the folks at Platinum Seagulls. If The Plat is reading, how’d you guys find this site? Oh, and I’m the person who does it. But, all good things must come to an end, and the number of readers has dropped approximately 1000% percent since that fine day. Good to see the content is making everyone wanna stick around…
Tomorrow is Friday and I sense a good weekend ahead. A Mendota Heights Skatepark sesh Saturday AM and TV on the Radio in the PM. There would be a Happy Hour on my menu for after-work tomorrow but apparently I’m not on the “cool kids” list at MLT Inc. I didn’t wanna go anyway jerks.
To end this on a pleasant note, me and the Litzbomb and actually thinking about upping our cable package just so we can watch Degrassi because its just that good.

Boston almost rhymes with awesome, which would be quite the coincidence because that’s exactly what it is. Three of my co-workers and I spent 4 days just outside of boston for a software/nerd conference last weekend. We only got to spend one night downtown Boston but we made the most of it. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
And in what can only be described as a miracle, I somehow came home with this video clip which I have no recollection taking and stumbled upon the next morning: best bum ever
